You do not need to solve the whole day

A check-in can simply be a moment of noticing. It does not need to become an impressive journal entry or a new habit you must maintain. Start with one sentence, if that is enough.

What am I feeling right now?

Try a plain description: tired, unsettled, disappointed, relieved. You may feel more than one thing. If naming the feeling is difficult, describe a physical sensation instead.

What seems to have brought this up?

Look for a situation rather than a verdict about yourself or another person. “I felt unsettled after our conversation” leaves more room to explore than “I always ruin things.”

What would help a little?

The answer might be rest, water, a walk, a conversation, or a little space. Choose a response small enough to be realistic. You can revisit a larger question when you have more capacity.

Let it be unfinished

You can end a reflection without a conclusion. Noticing something today may make it easier to understand tomorrow. If distress persists or affects your daily life, consider speaking with a qualified professional.
